Living in education has, at times, been enlightening, exhilarating, exhausting, and everything in between. This year I taught the art of writing memoir to my students and engaged in the process myself as a writer. The lies, truth, and overwhelming sense of clarity about who I am as an educator and learner emerged as the words and pictures, jumbled at first, spilled onto the pages. The journey of writing my memoir of an educator for over 20 years unfurled as both a restorative and sometimes difficult process that resulted in clarifying what I stand for and where I fit in this wonderful world of education and learning. So come to share your stories, your memories, your fears, your joys. Come to write your songs, your poems, your stories, your truth. Come to be inspired- by yourself and others. -Write what should not be forgotten" --Isabel Allende
